PastureLand is a small cooperative of family operated, organic grass-based dairy farms located in southeastern Minnesota. Their cows graze on living pasture, and their farmers are dedicated to building the soil, grass varieties, and pasture ecosystems that nourish their animals providing dairy products rich in natural nutrients.
Environmental stewardship and healthy cows are fundamental to PastureLand farmers. Their pastures prevent erosion while providing a humane environment for their cows and habitat for wildlife. All PastureLand farms have all been certified organic in accordance with the National Organic Program, and for their sustainable farming practices by the Food Alliance. No antibiotics or hormones, including rGBH/rBST, are used to enhance the growth or production of their dairy herds.
PastureLand's goal is to work together for the good of consumers, the environment, and member farmers to ensure a healthy, reliable community food source into the future. The foundation of the system is the grass-based farms managed using a whole farm approach, resulting in better working conditions for both people and animals and the highest quality products. PastureLand butter and cheese have been recognized by the American Cheese Society in competitive judging for exquisite taste & quality.
